a friend and i both made new characters a few weeks ago with the intent of us getting legendary survivor together. i was almost to r2 when i decided to give kilroy a try (my m8 was offline and we vowed to do all skill capping together). i lagged out during the brawl with the big mob toward the end and closed my game out. no go...1 death. my buddy was 20k xp from r3 when he lagged out while out for a skill cap, and he died.

we were none too pleased, to say the least!

Welcome to the club.
1,2 mil and the game decided to lag.

It's shitty - but considering how long it took me to get to LS on my first chars (pre-boxing) - it's a risk I am willing to take!

OK ppl's.

I have the LS on my War. I cheated the title I know. But why are you doing the boxing thing? Are the drops good? I do not know.

Seems rather risky. If you start from pre and make a new toon and do the charr at the gate quest over and over again you can get lvl 10 in under 8 hours. Just remember to only have the prince kill 3 baddies and then map to ascalon and do again.

Then get run to GWEN and kill snow wurms. Yes snow wurms. In hard mode you can kill 10 of the 13 of them. Do not kill the other 3 as the OAK's there WIll kill you. I know cause it happend to me once.

Use the scroll (300 gold) and get 175% more xp per kill. Talk to the dude at the res shrine - kill him in Normal Mode first - that way you get 20 norn points per kill. Along with those 20 points you get - GOLD drops, LOCKPICKS, GOLD as a drop, Purples, Greens, Whites (Always over 50g at merchant) and goodies during festival times. Oh did I mention there is a chest that spons 98% of the time that you can open with the lockpicks that you find on the ground and get golds from the chests. On and acquire Skill Pints. I have over 250 atm.

So basically you can work on 6 titles. The are:
Survivor (140,000/hour)
Treasure Hunter (generally get 1 lockpick/hour)
Wisdom (Average 3 Gold drops without chests)
Norn (20 points/run @ 20 runs/hour is 400/hour)
Lucky (Almost always 25 points cause the lockpicks break)
Unlucky (250 for every chest that you open and retain the lockpick=almost never)

I've had similar trouble with Punchout and Legendary Survivor. Instead of rebooting, my internet just lags for 5 minutes and I click "Stand Up!" but my character does not stand. I ended up killing the level 30 Snow Wurms outsdie Boreal Station for LS3 because they can only attack melee so as long as I degen from a distance I have no risk of losing title.

By the time I got r2 Surviv I had 100k gold. I have since finished LS3 and now my survivor wears full FoW armor he farmed all on his own.

When going for this title Run it on your lower graphic setting and reduced the window so to lower the strain on your machine. May help with lagging issues (also check you ping constantly) Do not attack unless you are at a good ping level. And run away if you start noticing hicups. Let the poor kilroy die if you have to it make he makes little diff in normal mode.

Also watch for pop up screen reducers (like auto virus scans etc...) They will reduce the screen on you and leave you at risk. Scan before you play

Although this does not help you for your power problem it may help with other screen crashes.

There ya go. A second from AVAI. S/HE got LS with zero % chance of death. If you are meele toon just take a step or two back if dying as they only do >20 damage per strike and only have meele and use no skills.

The trick is to mod you build so that you can kill them fast cause once they go under the ground they can regen.

I can kill all ten in under 3 minutes and I can kill them all with no armor on. Looks funny in the snow.

You are just unlucky since it is unlikely that anyone is screwing around with you for no reason. if it was like pvp for example then you should be really suspicious (esp if it happens everytime you face the same group of people!)

2nd time: Got to 590,000 exp and my computer crashed (didn't restart and log back in time to save my character)

3rd time: Got to 500,000 exp and my computer shut off out of no where (monitor power was still okay so power was good)

Only playing GW does this terrible luck happen (and of course, only while farming exp in punchout). Each time... I logged back in and of course... /deaths = 1

Was just wondering... if anyone else has experienced this... or maybe I'm just incredibly unlucky. Perhaps Legendary Survivor was never meant to be for me (at least via punchout).
Try hfffing it

^_^.
You could probably get r3 in under 8 hours... Or at least under 10 certainly. Probably faster to do "Elementalist Trainer" (?) quest anyway; the one with the 3 waves of ice golems. At least for early levels.

Boxing is the way to go. It's still fun and challenging going for 0 knockout runs in HM, and takes 1/10th of the time and gold required "playing the game" or skill capping. (Although I did do that with the paragon which was quite fun).

Ending on exactly 1,337,500 ftw.

Just lost my Survivor due to a game crash while brawling - tried contacting the support but it seems they are only using "copy 'n paste" answers.

Talk about 15 hours of wasted time (~970.000 xp).

I finally got the LS title on my 4th attempt (also through boxing). Was more careful this time and boxed mainly during off-peak hours, made sure no other applications were running (except antivirus/anti-spyware/firewall) and kept an eye on my ping rate as well as any signs of lagging. I spent a good chunk of my plat on the Triple XP scrolls though... to minimize the risks by minimizing the runs required.

Good luck to all those still going for the title!

My first survivor (ele) was done completely through skill capping and playing through factions. By the time I made it through hatchery and eternal, I was 6 caps away from LS. So I went to NF, did the docks mission, and capped the last few skills I needed for my title.

My second survivor (mes) followed the same path, although I also completed the norn and charr arcs of eotn. I was 200k away from LS, so I just finished her off with hfff because I wanted to work on my kurzick title anyway.

I have 4 (2 para, war, derv) other characters working on LS atm, all at about 450k. Done through skill capping, questing, and missions. I'm up through hatchery on all of them in factions and am working on grove. I plan on doing some hfff with them, as well as more elite capping.

I've tried the Kilroy Tournament once or twice on my derv, but not only is it boring, but it's risky. Two of my alliance mates tried doing punchout for their titles. One lagged and died, the other glitched - he got his energy back up after his first fall and was standing, but it claimed he didn't do it in time and he lost.

So, my suggestion for getting LS:

-Play the game(s) with care (I used hero's and henchies all the way though).
-If you are uncomfortable with a mission, ask your friends/guildies/allies for help.
-Cap every elite you can once you hit lvl 20. This is great if you want to do those titles anyway.
-Do every quest, especially in factions since they are worth a ton!

I Alt + Tabbed in a HM one at the first boss. When I switched back to Guild Wars I was at 00:01 time on the button-masher counter.

As for Survivor title in general; my ping randomly screws up sometimes. Not worth the hassle.

Bring a bonder monk and go wurm farming. I did from S2-S3 as a /rit with vampirism and bloodsong and didn't really even need to attack. However, since you have bad luck, stay away from the 3 near the tree mobs.

To the thread starter, you can grind farm those Jade Brotherhood warriors in Budek Skyway HM. There are 4 mobs to kill in total and they yield 2k experience each run. It is extremely safe if you're willing to sacrifice the experience gain for 1 bonder and 1 WoH monk to save your ass in-case of a client crash.

I got legendary survivor vanquishing hard mode. I used an imbagon though, so there was no danger at all. I wasn't really even going for it. The safest way is just to repeat someone easy over and over (HFFF, punchout, etc), but that can become very very boring.

You're not unlucky, your computer sucks.

All of the above means you're having power issues due to weak power supply or overheating.
